Gina von Hartmann is a working artist living in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Making her way to NM After 12 years in Portland, OR and living a spell in California, New York, and across the pond in Great Britain. Originally from Cincinnati Ohio, von Hartmann received a BFA from The Art Academy of Cincinnati one of the last Museum Schools at the time. von Hartmann considers herself a Creative and resists using the label Artist. Though receiving a Major in Sculpture, von Hartmann’s time is split between drawing, writing, multimedia, and performance work. She works in both traditional forms and installation ecosystems.


As a child of a German immigrant the essence of the household was predominately of German influence, but with a peppering of deep southern culture from a southern raised Appalachian Mother. Having lost an older brother and both parents before the age of 25, von Hartmann’s work is woven with themes of loss and found, healing and growth, and sprinkled with the cultural residues from self admitted wanderlust.


von Hartmann’s work has been on display in various cities across the U.S in such places as New York, Oregon, California, Ohio, Kentucky, the South West, and internationally in Kenya & South Korea. Her work is found in private collections in South Korea, New York, California, Washington D.C., Ohio, Indiana, and the South West.
